Even though SanDisk is already a strong player in the flash memory arena, since 2009, both their OEM and ODM SSD products quickly became a significant part of their sales. Since their debut with the PC/ X86 line of SSD products exactly a year ago, they've come out with more SSD solutions for smart phones and tablets alike. The iNAND and iSSD are the two new contestants, with the iNAND being 30% smaller and utilizing the faster mSATA interface while the iSSD is in eMMC. They also come in the same selection of flavors as their memory card products: basic, Ultra and Extreme, each offering different cost effectiveness.
Last but not least, SanDisk has brought to us the latest and the thinnest SSD- the U100 series, which hides inside of the new ultra-thin UX series laptop by ASUS. This marks the first customizable SSD product by SanDisk. We are sure there are more interesting SSD solutions to come.
