Dxg's DVH50 Camcorder Stacks Up Against Samsung and Toshiba

by Administrator September 19, 2011 14:54

In the world of evolving technology, it can be difficult to determine which digital camera to purchase. Retailers can get stumped in predicting which models, makes and designs their customers will want more than others, and making the wrong items as showcased products can cost thousands of dollars. In hand-held, dual-function digital cameras, for example, compare the DVH5F0 by Dxg Technology Corp with a few similarly priced models in a fair review.

First, the DVH5F0, Samsung's SMX-F50 and Toshiba's Camelio H30 camcorders present lens-in-front profiles, standard in many camcorders. They all have side viewers that extend outward for recording and viewing, and all have both optical and digital zoom capabilities to varying degrees. All play flash cards, weigh approximately eight pounds and have varied lens aperture settings for special effects and darkness adjustments. All three also provide both still and motion pictures, a duality that many digital camera lovers insist on having.

The differences start with the zoom capabilities. The DVH5F0 and Camelio both offer 4x digital zooming and 5x optical zooming. Samsung's model steps considerably ahead of the others with 2200x and 52x in digital and optical zoom capability, respectively. But Samsung lags in other areas.

The Samsung SMZ-F50 and Toshiba's Camelio provide smaller maximum aperture at 4.9 and 3.7, respectively, putting both behind the DVH5F0's 4.95 aperture setting. The smaller aperture setting makes shadowed or low-light shots difficult without a flash.

All three models allow automatic focusing, but the DVH5F0 and the Camelio allow only automatic focus; Samsung's model also allows manual focusing, which some users may prefer.

So which is best? Most areas are fairly even, but Samsung has the lead in many categories, either by a lot or just a little. Retail pricing between $135 and $200, depending on geography and demand, would make a definitive choice even more difficult. The DVG5F0's F/2.8-4.95 aperture range might be the tipping point with a solid range of lighting options, especially when paired with the no-hassle focus feature.

Asus’ U36 is now on the market in UK!! (www.computex.biz)

by Administrator August 02, 2011 17:37

The eye-catching magnesium alloy notebook, which has been under the spotlight since six months ago, is now on the market in UK. If you still remember its ad, U36 sparkles for its 19mm thickness, 1.44kg (4 cell) / 1.6kg (8 cell), standard voltage i5 processor, NVIDIA Optimus graphics, USB3.0, and etc. Though the hardware is not as competitive as the one of their up-coming UX21 ultrathin, it’s still acceptable by the level of a £699 notebook. We’re not sure when users can get a U36 in Hong Kong or Taiwan, but there are already black and silver ones in Micro Anvika that you can choose from, and also, U36 will be available at Comet at the end of the month.

What makes the keyboard so unique? (www.computex.biz)

by Administrator June 29, 2011 14:55

When it comes to its look, well, it’s not the point since the main audience is buyers at Computex but not consumers. It might get a new look when sold to certain brands though.

The specifications of the keyboard, which are similar to the touchpad of Eclipse Litetouch, are as follows:

a)Multi-fingers Gesture function

b)Handwriting function

c)Tenkeys simulated function

d)RF interface

e)Keyboard function

f)Multi-media function

g)Mouse function

As to the Multi-fingers Gesture function, there are a lot of user-friendly features: rotate, zoom in/ out, swipe left/ right, page up/ down, scroll, slide, and so on. What’s more, with ELAN’s eStylus, the capacitive touchpad supports the application of handwriting function.

Got a smart phone with capacitive screen? Then you can make better use of your stylus!

Who beats Microsoft’s SideWinder X4? (www.computex.biz)

by Administrator June 28, 2011 09:56

We can leave alone the model number KB-6868 since it may get a new label when launched in the market.

It is the feature “N-Key Rollover” that draws my attention when first seeing the product, but as what I know about membrane keyboards, the function hasn’t been seen yet. As what mentions in its specifications, the keyboard allows the pressing of up to 29 keys at once, which makes me wonder if it means that the “N-Key Rollover” can be carried out under different interfaces or not?

I prefer to take it the way that the keyboard can output more keys than others, to be more specifically, it is 3-keys more than Microsoft’s SideWinder X4 does.

It is also obvious that this waterproof keyboard is designed for games player for its function of keyboard shortcuts to close windows.

Can you get what it tries to convey from the picture?(www.computex.biz)

by Administrator June 27, 2011 15:01

Magic MousePad, implementing the real glass material, easily gets the message across by its product specifications. The polished beautiful glassy surface in black is the touch active area where users can switch between touch pad mode, hand-writing board, and numerical-pad mode. To shorten up, it’s like the design of the numerical pad of Eclipse Litetouch.

But what confuses me is the picture of the product. Is the light side the shadow of it? The idea of the design is brilliant, but its picture fails to present it clearly. It is really uncommon that a picture of a product makes consumers more confused instead of getting more specific ideas.

Can you recognize who is standing at your door by peeping out from your door viewer?! (www.computex.biz)

by Administrator June 20, 2011 14:47

There used to be a door viewer, or so-called peephole viewer, on the door. It is convenient for lots of people, but it has its defects though. For example, people can hardly see things from the door viewer when in low light conditions; kids aren’t tall enough to peep from the viewer; the image from it isn’t clear for the elderly to recognize their family or friends.

To overcome these obstacles, brinno showcases their digital peephole viewer, which implements LCD screen to magnify the image so that users can see it clearly even if it’s dim outside the door. I think the concept of the product is just like the one of night vision systems for cars.

But what I concern about the peephole viewer is the power supply. Users can’t avoid recharging the batteries time after time when they are dead.

Most importantly, the digital peephole viewer is only suitable for the doors that are equipped with an old viewer. However, as what has been mentioned on http://www.fixy.com.tw, there are fewer and fewer doors designed with peepholes as the security systems of high-class communities become better and better, the market of peephole viewers might be shrinking.

Are you sure it is just a lamp? (www.computex.biz)

by Administrator May 09, 2011 14:53

There might be quite a lot of people thinking about setting network monitoring equipments, but only few of them may think of the power system when looking for the solution.

The lamp type home surveillance camera, a product of Throughtek Co., Ltd, integrates PLC and P2P technology. Its Home Plug AV of the PLC enables video signals to be transmitted via existing line. The camera also applies standard E27 lamp connector, so it can be easily installed on your lamp.

No cabling, no drilling, and no compatibility issues are what it sells itself.

There is no price information about the product, but a similar product supplied by SAMPO is labelled between 7,000 to 8,000 which is acceptable.

It seems that this lamp type camera is a perfect choice for home monitoring. It may be categorized into hidden cameras if it looks more like a real lamp though.

Have trouble switching to multimedia hot keys with your touch pad?(www.computex.biz)

by Administrator April 21, 2011 16:37

The ORtek PKB-1800 Palm Keyboard combined the touch pad and the Multimedia hot keys, which shares the same technique with the keyboard, combining touch pad with numeric pad, presented in Computex 2009.

Multimedia hot keys include WWW, My Computer, Email, Pretrack, Play/Pause, Next Track, Mute, Volume +/-. When it comes to the touch pad, consumers can’t be too familiar with its functions: magnifier, rotation, zoom in/out, and vertical/ horizontal scroll can be controlled by two fingers, whereas switching windows, My Computer, Page down/ up can be functioned by three fingers.
