Computex 2009: Ione Mechanical Keyboard with Backlight

by Administrator June 12, 2009 14:16

A keyboard with backlight is not something unusual. What's unusual about this backlighted keyboard from Ione Technology is: it's a mechanical keyboard.

Due to the design and manufacturing difficulties, the majority of keyboards with backlight use membrane switches. In the world of mechanical keyboards, it is harder, and more costly to put backlight into mechanical keyboard, which would certainly be reflected on final price (our guess:from NT$4000 upwards) It's therefore why mechanical keyboard with backlight is a rare thing and the reason we think this keyboard may attracts some attentions from keyboard fanatics.

The brightness of the backlight can be adjusted through function keys. The switches used in this keyboard are MX linear switches.
